Ola Paulson [SE]: saxophones (w/ & w/o preparations)

This record contains eleven short solo improvisations inspired by diary notes and photos from trekking in the Scandes.
The Scandes is one of the world's oldest mountain ranges and runs through the Scandinavian Peninsula. One of the mountain chain's absolute highlights is undoubtedly Sarek National Park, a wilderness area rich in legends and lore, colors and shapes, from where the title name is taken. ”Skoarkki”, a mighty massif in the heart of Sarek that majestically, yet humble, descends into the Rapa Valley.

"Return, serene Skoarkki" is a sonic travelogue and a personal homage to the Skoarkki massif.

Ola Paulson leads the Konvoj Ensemble who released the album ”Colors of:” featuring Evan Parker and Sten Sandell last year. However, this is his first solo album on Konvoj Records.n
